Rising Currents 11/17/17
by Deborah Putman
Ocean blood of my body,
white foaming bubbles finger daylight shorelines.
Water flows indigo blue, a night sky mirror
Offerings of flour and honey
honour gamboling Oceanids.
Black void, embryonic cradle,
hold her close, as lungs breathe life.
Sea organisms thrive in birthing beds below.
Complete with summer’s water coverlet
A diamond galaxy, reflect a lion sun above.
Inevitable birthright of change
Nourish tomorrows juicy with life,
desperate angry days in ruin,
A world renewed surfaces.
Rebirthed vessel afloat, intact
Tender world encircles compassion.
