Rising Currents 11/17/17 by Deborah Putman Ocean blood of my body, white foaming bubbles finger daylight shorelines. Water flows indigo blue, a night sky mirror __adrift. Offerings of flour and honey honour gamboling Oceanids. Daredevil dive Black void, embryonic cradle, hold her close, as lungs breathe life. Sea organisms thrive in birthing beds below. Complete with summer’s water coverlet A diamond galaxy, reflect a lion sun above. Inevitable birthright of change Remember, imagine, believe. Nourish tomorrows juicy with life, desperate angry days in ruin, blind barbarism, dead ebb. A world renewed surfaces. Rebirthed vessel afloat, intact Rising currents Tender world encircles compassion.
